House Disguised as Barn Must be Demolished

The final appeal of a couple who misled planners by building a house disguised as a barn has finally been rejected. In a court hearing, an order was made confirming that the property will have to be torn down.

The property was built in breach of planning permission (which had been given for an agricultural building) and the couple applied for a certificate of lawful use after the local Council had failed to take enforcement action for four years.
