Judge Convicts Four Men

31/03/2010

What is said to be the first major criminal trial without a jury in 400 years finished today at the Old Bailey with the accused all being convicted, having been charged with various offences following a £1.75 million armed raid on a Heathrow warehouse in 2004.

Following three trials abandoned because of accusations of attempted jury tampering, the case was recommenced before Mr Justice Treacy, with the result that all four accused were convicted. Sentences are to be decided later.
