Hello and good morning, good afternoon or good evening from us to you, wherever you are and whatever time you are reading this. Welcome to our April 2021 newsletter. A momentous month for all of us here at LFBB.
Roy Lewis our senior partner and one of the founders of our firm has retired from the partnership. Roy is continuing to work with us as a consultant; so like us, you might feel that little has changed but it is an event worth marking.
There will be time for thanking Roy for his work and friendship and to mark the career of the man, the legend, that is Roy Lewis when he ultimately retires from work and by then we might also be able to celebrate properly. In the meantime our Managing Partner, Rich Francis, would like to use this introduction to our Newsletter to publicly thank Roy for being an incredibly supportive Partner and a great friend. Rich said…
“Roy is a fantastic lawyer and wonderfully entertaining friend. Never has there been a person more committed to their working life. Whilst Roy might be a fundamentally ‘old school solicitor’ he has fully embraced technology as it has been introduced to the firm. Whilst he can appear a little intimidating initially, his empathy shines through with both colleagues and clients alike. Roy gave me my first opportunity to work in this profession, invited me to be his business partner and over 25 years later we still enjoy working together. We have never had a cross word.”
We are sure that all of our clients, contacts and friends of the firm will wish Roy well and if any of you have any stories to tell then please e mail them in to rich.francis@lfbbsolicitors.co.uk. If they are appropriate, some of them might even appear in this newsletter.
As Roy starts a gradual retirement, we are delighted to welcome Daniel Flowers to be a Partner of the firm. Dan has worked with us for over five years already and has proved himself a thoughtful, considerate, and technically excellent lawyer. We look forward to working together to constantly improve our business and the service we provide to our clients.
To mark the change in the partnership we have updated our branding. We hope you like our new look. We have been assisted in this by the lovely people at Volta Creative here in Sheffield. As I am sure you all know, we like to keep it local. For this months first article we have given Volta the opportunity to tell you all about themselves. They have even included a special offer to all our readers. We would like to thank Darren and Carina at Volta for their work, their patience and for always working with a smile. Do check out our website. We think we are looking quite smart.
In other news, legal proceedings have been instigated via social media and amongst other things a local authority have been taken to task for potentially wrecking an area of national beauty.
So there is lots of news for you to catch up on. The spring is definitely here and summer feels like it is on the way. Restrictions on our social lives are lifting and hopefully we will soon again be able to share time together with a cuppa or a glass of something cold. We look forward to meeting with you again in person soon and in the meantime, keep safe and take it steady.
